Sure! Everyone has an agenda, whether it be large institutions like FOX and CNN, or individual contributors like Noah Smith and Tyler Cowen. While institutions tend to obfuscate their agenda and present themselves as neutral, individuals are transparent in their ideology, sponsorships, and agenda. Additionally, institutions have to paint things in broader strokes so as to accommodate the masses, further reducing granularity/transparency, while individuals speaking to a specific audience can be more precise, and really get into the nooks and crannies of complex issues, increasing transparency and truly shining the light, which creates trust (whether you agree with them or not).
